Mind Over Matter

State of Mind

When we explore change or adopting a new lifestyle or reaching a particular goal we start with a thought. With that thought we can mold our minds to achieve anything we desire. With that said, it really all starts with “state of mind” and how we feel about ourselves.

Positive, positive, positive is my motto. Yes, we’ve all gone through tragedy in our lives and I’m very sympathetic to that. However, I’ve learned to live in the present and turn every obstacle, issue or problem into a positive, into a learning experience, into a learning opportunity. No matter what life brings me, I always look at the bright side. Of course, some situations are harder than others but all is possible to transition into a positive situation. Adopting a positive strategy has been key in my life because being positive has affected my body, mind and soul in miraculous ways.

Why worry

In the past, I worried about problems that, at times, basically didn’t even take place yet. I learned that “worry” is an element that will affect you and age you exponentially. You know the feeling, your hear bad news or come across a challenge, you start feeling your body reacting and physically changing, but that’s reality, it does take over your body. You may feel tension in your shoulders, your neck, and your head. Some of us may feel it in our stomachs, chest or other parts of the body. So, I found ways to deal with these feelings and issues. I truly think it all boils down to incorporating three key areas in life:

  • Forgiveness

  • Compassion

  • Kindness

Once we open our hearts to live under these three important elements of life, we can ensure that everything else will fall into place. If we commit to living in this manner, under the guidelines of forgiveness, compassion and kindness, our success is almost guaranteed! And with these ways of life ties in natural anti-aging principles because our bodies work in harmony with our mind and our soul. If one is unbalanced, the other one will feel it. Whether consciously or subconsciously, it’s an interdependent triangle, interconnecting them will lead us to a happier and more harmonious life.

Happiness as an anti-aging tool

With that said, let’s talk about how our skin and natural glow is related to all components just mentioned. I’ve experienced that when I think happy thoughts, for example, how when I lived with my grandmother, she would make me hot chamomile tea every night and brought it to bed for me. We would talk and I felt loved and cared for. Whatever gives you those warm fuzzy feelings is what you want to strive for. You control and know what makes you happy and excited. Use this powerful tool. When you use this powerful tool:

  • You and your skin glows

  • Your energy is elevated

  • Your motivation is thriving

  • Your endorphins sparkle

It is like a natural face lift! The body recognizes these signals of happiness and revitalizes your skin, it’s the most natural form to nourish your skin. It also affects my motivational levels, I personally feel as if I can accomplish all my dreams and aspirations. These feelings affect my skin and my attitude, how? Well for one, I’m relaxed. I’m not frowning or tense or squinting, therefore my skin is affected in a positive, healthy manner. Of course a healthy diet, a consistent skincare routine and regular exercise affects your skin as well. My point here is to demonstrate that all is related and that your mind, body and soul like to work in concert with each other.

My approach is a holistic one, all works much better together when in harmony because it’s all interconnected. Bringing each element together achieves an optimal, compatible threesome. The point is that the more we learn and understand the interconnectedness the better our chances to achieve ultimate happiness, physical glow and spiritual growth. It’s all about mind over matter. Start today, perhaps with your family or an old friend or a new friend or a total stranger!

Forgive someone, be compassionate for someone and choose to participate in random acts of kindness.
